Hello my friends. It feels like a lifetime ago since last month’s audio creativity transmission. In many ways, I feel like a different person. Perhaps in some ways I am.
Our card for this month is the 5 of Cups. And this month we are invited to go even deeper into the stories we tell ourselves about our creative process.
I should be writing.
I’m not talented enough.
I’m not motivated enough.
And so many more.
Often we’ll soothe ourselves like this: “Oh! It’s okay. You don’t need to write every day. You’re still worthy.”
This self-talk is important but I don’t think it takes us deep enough. What do our “should stories” have to teach us about ourselves and our creative process?
What is it like to be a person who doesn’t write enough? What if I don’t write enough? What if I never write again? What is it like to be a person who never writes again?
What is it like to be untalented? What if I am untalented? What is an untalented person like?
What is it like to be unmotivated? What does it feel like? What are the qualities of lack of motivation?
If this sounds somewhat alarming I assure you: inside the answers to these questions, DEEP inside your “should story”….a gift is buried.
