a 2025 prophecy

Hello, and WELCOME to the INAUGURAL issue of THE GLITCH WITCH (and my first transmission of 2025)!
Yes, you read that right.
Since its inception in April 2022, this Substack has been known as PORTALS & PRISMS.
As my mission, my vision, my work, and my business are crystalizing in 2025 and beyond, it has become very clear that it was time to compost PORTALS & PRISMS and update my relationship to this missive.
It is time to be THE GLITCH WITCH.
Today I feel like being very direct and potent—getting right to the point. BUT I’ll be sharing the why the name change, as well as updating you on what else is changing around here in a few days.
For now, onto today’s transmission.
2025 is a “9” year, and 9 is The Hermit in tarot.
(We get this by adding the numbers: 2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 9)
The overarching theme for 2025 is
PARADOX
In 2025 we weirdos, misfits, and outcasts take action on our dreams.
Two cards I’ve been pulling repeatedly that aren’t logically connected to The Hermit—but are intuitively connected for me—are
Queen of Swords
(Water of Air)
and
Knight of Pentacles
(Air of Earth)
Together, these two archetypes weave a very paradoxical “Saturn in Pisces” story.
First, you dive into you depths (water) to receive your knowing (air),
then you bring that knowing (air) in the the physical realm to take action (earth).
Then, dip back into your intuitive depths (water) to connect with your knowing (air) in the primordial, then you bring that knowing (air) to life by taking action in the physical (earth).
It is not one or the other.
It is not intuition over logic or vice versa.
It is an endless feedback loop between the two.
An infinity loop between magic and mundane, silence and noise, stillness and movement, rest and action, dreaming and doing, listening and speaking, yearning and receiving, waiting and moving, asking and deciding.
The Hermit is not about sitting still (NO: The Hermit is walking).
The Hermit is not about “alone time” (NO: The Hermit is in the most relational place of all—the wilderness.)
The Hermit is the paradox of polarities:
Movement and Stillness
Outer Information and Inner Wisdom
The World As It Is and The World As It Could Be
The Hermit is guided by their own light but they are not cut off from the external world—in fact, they are stripped bare of structures that would shield them from the world.
They are truly IN the world, though they are guided by something beyond it.
“In the world but not of it.”
The Hermit is not an ascetic who peaces out from the world.
Hiding in your room is not Hermit energy.
Disengaging from the complexities of day-to-day life is not Hermit energy.
No.
The Hermit is engaged.
The Hermit meets the world head on.
The Hermit faces fears and meets discomfort and engages challenge and indulges curiosity.
The Hermit moves through the world with both feet on the ground, with presence, with attunement, with a willingness to meet life as it is.
And simultaneously, through their willingness to walk in this way, they change the world.
PARADOX.
People who are dreamers, mystics, artists, and creatives have no problem seeing themselves as visionaries.
It’s EASY to connect to the vision. We do that effortlessly.
But if we don’t learn to ALSO take action—
Our visions will rot in our heads.
On our journal pages.
On our Pinterest boards.
In the cemetery of our Notes app.
The Hermit is both.
Vision and Action.
Intuition and Mission.
Visionary and Leader.
The Hermit has a vision, but they are also walking steadfastly into the unknown.
The Hermit goes first into a Wild Way—even if no one follows.
Even if they are called eccentric, strange, foolish, delusional.
The Hermit isn’t alone on that mountaintop because they crave solitude…
It’s because they went first.
The Hermit is about Leadership.
But not leadership as we have come to know it in the old paradigm.
The Hermit is New Paradigm Leadership.
The Hermit is where the Fringes become the Forefront.
Where the Weirdo becomes the Visionary.
Where the Misfit becomes the Wayshower.
Where the Outcast becomes the Pathfinder.
The Hermit pays no mind to those who call them a “glitch” because they know they didn’t come here to be a functioning cog in the machinery of a dying system.
They game here to be the glitch in the system—
to spread their alternate codes through the system like a holy virus.
To be their wild, weird, strange self—all on their own if they have to, till others catch on and follow their lead.
Evolution requires deviance.
All evolution begins with a mutation.
This is Science.
This is Mystery.
It is BOTH.
PARADOX.
2025 is the year that Future Earth Leaders fully commit to being the glitch they came here to be.
To marry the paradox of their illogical inner knowing with logical external action.
To lead by simply BEING who they came here to be—and taking action on their vision.
We source from our depths—and then we take action on the surface.
An infinity loop between DEPTHS and ACTION.
This is how we will stay alive.
This is how we show the way.
