Deck: Blood Moon Tarot
Further thoughts on pollination:
Some people are in different phases of growth and blooming.
Some are open to pollination, and some are not there yet.
Bees don’t give up just because some buds are completely closed off. If a flower is not yet open or ready, it’s not personal. The bee moves on to where the nectar is.
The flowers that are ready open for the free exchange of nectar/pollen. Consent matters. Bees don’t take nectar from closed flowers, nor do they pollinate them*.
Bees can’t control what’s closed off to them. That doesn’t stop them from flitting from flower to flower, landing wherever there is an obvious opening, a welcoming of exchange.
It can feel so heavy to be a “person who sees.” The internet often distorts expectations. In the portals of our online lives, it can feel like like-minded people are abundant. This can be a shock when our 3D lives do not reflect this reality, when it’s so much harder to “find our people” in person.
Use your voice, your platform, and your art to speak the truth you carry for those who are ready and open to receive. Not everyone will be. That’s okay. That’s their process and it’s not personal. Your job is not to pollinate everyone, nor will everyone offer you nectar. This is not a problem. This is healthy and normal.
Your people exist. They want to receive your art. To nourish you and be nourished in return.
Feast your heart on what sustains you, on what supports your flourishing. Make your honey. Share it with endless generosity. Repeat.
The world needs you to thrive. Even if it’s not always ready for your vision.

Quotes for Sweet Encouragement
“The most important thing each of us can know is our unique gift and how to use it in the world. Individuality is cherished and nurtured, because, in order for the whole to flourish, each of us has to be strong in who we are and carry our gifts with conviction, so they can be shared with others.” — Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants
“If the goal was to increase the love, rather than winning or dominating a constant opponent, I think we could actually imagine liberation from constant oppression. We would suddenly be seeing everything we do, everyone we meet, not through the tactical eyes of war, but through eyes of love. We would see that there's no such thing as a blank canvas, an empty land or a new idea - but everywhere there is complex, ancient, fertile ground full of potential.” — adrienne maree brown, Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds
“To create one must be able to respond. Creativity is the ability to respond to all that goes on around us, to choose from the hundreds of possibilities of thought, feeling, action, and reaction that arise within us, and to put these together in a unique response, expression, or message that carries moment, passion, and meaning.” — Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D., Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype
“Indeed, we do have a responsibility to act to change those injustices that anger us, to heal those wounds that affect us most deeply and directly, but we also have a responsibility to our holy bodies and aching minds. No one will do our sacred work for us if we burn out, so we must keep the fires burning for ourselves, forever and always.” — Danielle Dulsky, The Holy Wild: A Heathen Bible for the Untamed Woman
